SkitterCar Ride On Toy Review and Giveaway

My boys love cars. They love to roll their little play cars all over the house. They love to watch cars as they go down the road. Theyget super excited when a car is shown on television. If it has wheels, they adore it.

So, I guess it's no surprise that my boys also love ride on toys. They have several and are always fighting over them. My 2 1/2 year old has some balance issues and struggles when he walks, therefore he loves to get around by other, more fun modes of transportation.

Recently, we were sent a SkitterCar to try out. I was impressed upon reading their website and finding out that they donate SkitterCars to hospitals, therapy clinics and schools that work with kids with special needs. I was reading testimonials on their website at http://skittertoys.com/ and was impressed that parents with differently-abled children gave SkitterToys high marks.

Here is a video I compiled starting when we received the SkitterCar and spanning over three weeks of getting to know the SkitterCar. My son walks with help and has balance issues, so we stayed right by him the entire time. He has very sensitive ears so I couldn't keep a helmet on him, but he was never out of my site or our arm reach.

I know this is a toy he and his brother will enjoy for years to come and as he gains more strength, he'll be an old pro in no time. The people at Skitter say people from 18 months to 80 years enjoy the Skitter, so this isn't a toy that is easily outgrown.

SkitterToys History
The company is family owned and part of WCNGroup of companies (also home of fast rising Children and Teen apparel company www.ThreePeasCo.com).

Brief History on the Skitter
The Skitter was founded by a partner/importer (from another company) of ours on a sourcing trip overseas 6+ years ago. When brought back we instantly loved the product and the many benefits (no batteries, safe, great exercise, eco etc).

Today
We at SkitterToys are reaching out in order to educate consumers that we are a USA company and have retailed the Skitter for over 5 years and will be around long after all these fly by night companies that have a similar but not quality product ride on toy.

Two years ago we noticed a decline in production quality and partner/importer secured new manufacturing thus significantly improved quality and manufacturing governess.

The company states that what separates SkitterToys from the others is:
• Superior customer service and support
• High quality product manufacturing
• Over five years as an online retailer and now accepting wholesale retailer requests
• Service spare parts
• Have upgraded Polyurethane Wheels
• Skitter is embossed in the plastic on the bottom of the body showing that we are the manufacturer
• Price (unless you are getting a complete knock-off that is not safe)
• Finally, we are a US Company that holds to high standards for kids toys safety and FUN!

The SkitterCar seems well made to me and easy to put together and use. I really like the toy and the fact that it is self-propelled and really helps the boys strengthen their muscles and improve their gross motor skills (in my opinion). My oldest son would sit on it all day and drive it around the house if I let him (he has to nap sometime though).

Win: Update: We have our winner! Congratulations to #533 Mir who said, "Love it that it's for all ages and all you need to run it is a cookie or two. :)) My favorite is yellow."

cdziuba@aol.com After trying 10 times tp comment on Youtube, I found out that AOL users have a problem often with Youtube, so my comment is: The video is terrific. I gave it 5 stars, and I think the video showed how a "kid-powered" toy is the best. I'd love to win it for our Gianna, she'd flip for it. The colors of the Skitters are cool too.

We saw one of these at our fair during the summer - I got on one, my daughter got on the other, and we had SO much fun on them! They were too expensive for us to buy (they were a different brand, same concept) so it would be so great to win one. The saleslady at the booth was amazed that my daughter was only 2 1/2 because she just got on, started wiggling the wheel, and away she went-she caught on so fast! So, these are super fun and I would love to win, thanks!

First, I love the design of the car - how did they manage to make it look both space-age AND modern at the same time? Very cool!

Also, I love that they are so low-profile and the the feet fit into those grooves - great for little OR older kids (and the little ones won't have so far to fall).

I also love how it looks like you can turn on a dime - sweet! What a fun thing to review!

I checked out the site. And after watching some videos of kids and parents using the Skitter Car on other site, I really think that my son would love this. He has a lot of upper arm strength, but not a lot of leg strength needed for pedaling a bike. So this seems like the perfect thing for him. He is a little younger than the recommended age...but he looked at some of the videos with me as well, and got really excited about it. Thanks so much for the opportunity! bekki1820cb@gmail.com

I want to win because my toddler only has one ride-on toy, and he's outgrown it. This one would last a longer while than most ride-ons, and it looks like it's safe and a lot of fun.

Thank you.

This would be a great Christmas present for my 2 1/2 year old little boy, but I have to be honest, I'm sure we would all have fun on it. :)
