VeggieTales: Pistachio Review & 2 Day Giveaway

My boys love VeggieTales. It's one of a handful of DVDs that I feel comfortable letting them watch because of the positive messages within. I mean, what isn't to love about Bob and Larry and their silly songs?

When I was offered the chance to check out their newest DVD VeggieTales®: Pistachio – The Little Boy That Woodn’t, I jumped at the opportunity. When it arrived, I popped it right into the DVD player and let the boys watch. Here are their first reactions... Finley telling me all about it and Kieran speechless and still (a miracle). Not only will kids like it, but parents will too since it's a lesson in listening to parents.

Want to see if your little one likes it before buying? Here's the trailer:

DVD Synopsis
Once upon a time in the small town of Bologna-Salami, there lived a lonely toymaker named Gelato and his assistant Cricket. Gelato had no children of his own, so one day he decided to carve a little boy out of wood. Imagine Gelato’s surprise when he learned this little boy could walk…and talk…and definitely had a mind of his own! When Pistachio tries to do things his way, he lands in a “whale” of a situation! Will he decide to listen to the wisdom of a loving father in time to save his whole family from becoming fish food? Find out in this all-new adventure with a lesson about the importance of family and learning to listen.

Our Opinion
This DVD doesn't disappoint. It's packed with music, a new silly song, bright colors, wonderful animation and a great message. The boys watch it intently and I enjoy the parody that they don't get quite yet. I also love that there is accompanying online stuff to do. I think it would be a wonderful gift for a birthday or to put in an Easter basket.

There is a Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/veggietales as well as an opportunity to win a cruise here. The cruise is a chance to join Bob and Larry and as they host Third Day on The Music Boat aboard Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas! Sail from Miami, FL to Nassau, Bahamas, CocoCay and Key West from November 8-12, 2010.

Buy: VeggieTales®: Pistachio – The Little Boy That Woodn’t from Big Idea, Inc. is available where DVDs are sold and here at their official retail link for $14.99. You can also download the Pistachio Family Fun Time Guide free at that link.

I truly appreciate the life lessons that Veggie Tales not only teaches my children but also to me. I am always challenged at the end of watching one of the videos by something mentioned.
As I am typing this: we are getting ready to watch Dave and the Giant Pickle. :)
It would be a wonderful gift for my children to have! :)

The little Christian vegetables send a great message to our impressionable young people - indoctrinate them early - that's my motto! Get them before they develop critical thinking skills. It's extra nice to catch them while they still believe in Santa Claus.

I like the morals of the stories. You really don't find that in many childrens shows these days. They have good values, good stories, the stories are based on a story from the bible. How can you go wrong with this? It's entertaining and it teaches the children a lesson at the same time. I like it!
